The said matters alleged in the said Requisitions were investigated before Jeha Reskrudge Wood, Esquire, Police Magistrate, on the 14th,19th and 26th day■ of November, and the 3rd, 5th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 19th, 15th, 16th, 19th, Pond and 29th days of December, 1913, and the 8th and 9th days of January 1914: and on the 9th day of January 1914 the sald John Restrudge Teed committed the Appellant te Vloteria Gael in the Colony of Hongkong under a warrant which recited that he has
bean accused of the comi■■ien of the crime stated in the paper attached therete within the jurisdiction of China and that no sufficient cause had been shown to him why the Appellant should
not be surrendered in piranimas of the Chinese Extradition Ordinance Rei.7 of 1887 and cermanding W. A. Pepperal, ens of the constables of the said Colony of Hongkong to convey and
deliver the body of the Appellant into the oustedy of the
Superintendent of Viatoria Gael and commanding the Superintendai
to take him and keep him there safely until he is safely deliv-
ered in pursuance of the Chinese Extradition Ordinance No.7 of
1887.
(8) The crimes mentioned in the said paper attached to the
said warrant were as follows:-

That he the said Chung Hsiu-nan otherwise Chung Sau Nam,
en the 4th day of August 1915 at Canton, Ohins, feloniously
did steal certain valuable securities, to wit twe ohenues, ene
for $100,000 drawn upon the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking
Gerperation, Shaneen, Canton, and one før 558000 drawn upon the
International Banking Jerperation, Shaneen, Canton, the property
of the Government of the Province of Kwong Tung, China,
